Lesson ideas:

Introduction
:
Read a poem that contains words from the word family of the week.
Can the students guess what the word family is this week?
T: "How do you know?"

Connect to previous lesson: Build schema/background
T: "Last week, we learned about the word family _________.
This week… "

A few more ideas:

Choral repetition of the words.

Put the words of the week in a pocket chart.  Each word should be accompanied by a picture.
With this chart, you can ask the students to come up individually and retrieve the word that you dictate.

You can also have students match the picture with the word it illustrates.
