I don't have to tell you.... You already know that recognizing sight words can unlock a sentence's meaning.
I've attached a file below that includes about 100 sight words, and their translation in Spanish and Haitian Creole. After each set of about 11 or 12 words, the student must write each word four times, and then choose 5 or 6 of them to write sentences. However, learning sight words doesn't have to be as boring as that.
Students can play games with sight words, such as Sight Word Bingo, or Sight Word Memory.
You could also play Tic Tac Toe with sight words in class. In order for a team to receive an X or O for a chosen space, they must correctly read the sight word in that space.
